I just heard this morning that all charges were dropped against "John Doe." He also got his bail money back. On the other hand, I guess the mother of the vandal, got arrested for the outstanding warrants and had to spend some time in the Marion County Pokey until she could come up with the bail money. Believe I heard someone say that the boy was going to be liable for $1500 in damages to the park equipment. Yea! Something finally turned out right!
For what it's worth, "John Doe" you are a good citizen and are commended for your fine work. Under the penalty of possible punishment, you stood up for what is right and actually WON! I hereby award you the Golden Flyswatter Award for meritorious service to the community! Congratulations!
Also, I would like to commend the Prosecuting Attorney for recognizing this for what it really was, and not (like most lawyers) some ACLU crap that would have punished Mr. John Doe. Way to go!
